The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 ÂŁ per year.

A permanent physiotherapy support worker is required by one of the UK\’s largest NHS Hospital Trusts working in a range of Physiotherapy teams within the medicine pathway. This includes the specialty medicine wards, complex care, frailty short stay and the Elgar Enablement unit. The role supports patients to regain their mobility, function and confidence following surgery or illness, providing a range of therapy interventions to facilitate recovery and promote independence.

The role

As a physiotherapy support worker your responsibilities will include:

  • Treating patients referred by physiotherapists. Tasks include organising and implementing physical treatment sessions from treatment protocols, monitoring patient progress.
  • Monitoring patient\’s response to physiotherapy programs, evaluating outcomes and adapting input as appropriate, working with patients towards their recovery and discharge.
  • Liaising with therapy staff and other members of the multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Supporting the administration to therapy teams with ordering of equipment, data input and referral.

Qualifications

  • Previous care experience NHS or similar social care equivalent.
  • NVQ level 3 or experiential learning experience/competency to a similar level.
  • Experience of working well within a team.
  • An ability to organise own caseload.
  • Experience of working under indirect supervision.
