A new, exciting opportunity is available working in the Acute Medical Unit at Southmead Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident, reliable and competent individual who wishes to work in a very busy, yet rewarding role based in the centre of our Acute Medical Unit. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Nurse in charge and Consultant in charge of the Acute Medical Unit to facilitate the smooth operational running of the department, interfacing with the site team, Divisions, Trust wide and external NHS teams to achieve this.
Main duties
The Patient Flow Co-ordinator will be responsible for collating and organising all data pertinent to the operational running of the department, including ensuring the accurate and timely provision of information to be shared internally and externally and informing decision making.
The successful candidate will have previously developed IT skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, and excellent communication skills. They will be familiar with the operational demands and performance metrics that the Acute Medical Unit reports against.

Job Summary
The post holder will provide a comprehensive, high quality and professional administration service to support the Acute Medical Unit. They will have a key role in managing patient flow within the 4-hour target in the Emergency Zone, act as a point of contact for the team, and assist in alleviating daily demands by handling calls from wards and visitors, logging departmental data and capturing actions when the hospital is in escalation. They will assist in the operational escalation process by providing administrative support in Emergency Zone huddles and noting actions and site information.
