Job Overview
An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join the surgical team providing a specialist service to Burns & Plastics at Southmead Hospital. The role involves working with adult inpatients and outpatient clinics.
Responsibilities
- Provide a high‑standard occupational therapy service to inpatients referred to the specialty team.
- Use specialised skills to provide a comprehensive Occupational Therapy service to patients, some of whom will have complex needs.
- Ensure service provision is prioritised and delivery is effective within available resources.
- Provide leadership for Band 5 staff and support staff through supervision.
- Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated team, holding responsibility for defined department projects.
- Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Occupational Therapy service.
- Train and supervise occupational therapy students on practice placement.
Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
- Post‑registration experience as an OT
- Post‑registration experience in related clinical specialties
- Documented CPD
- HCPC registration
- Effective written skills
- Digital skills
- Student Educator experience/qualification (or within one year)
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of research or audit
- Experience of supervising staff
- Membership of RCOT
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Effective written communication skills
- Digital literacy
Personal Qualities
- HCPC registration
- Membership of RCOT (desirable)
