Position Overview

You’re a Post Foundation Doctor or an IMT Doctor with opportunities. You’re looking for a role that allows you to specify a specialty, study and develop your CV, engage in quality improvement or research, and have time for travel.

We are North Bristol NHS Trust – the largest Trust in the South West region and the Major Trauma Centre for the Severn Network. The Trust has University Teaching Status and is associated with both the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England.

Clinical Fellow Opportunities

We are looking for Clinical Fellows across a range of specialties, including Care of the Elderly, Acute Medicine, General and Respiratory Medicine, Stroke, Neurology and Emergency Medicine. Placement options are available across these specialties and starts from December 2025.

Posts are a minimum of 8 months with the possibility of extension. A 20% professional development time is available for contracts of 6 months or more. Some individual posts are 100 % clinical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care across the assigned specialty area.
  • Participate in teaching and supervision of trainee doctors.
  • Engage in quality improvement (QI) projects and contribute to specialty team activities.
  • Maintain on‑call commitments as per specialty requirements.
  • Be managerially accountable to the Clinical Directors of the Medicine Directorate (Dr Ella Chaudhuri and Dr Jarrod Richards).

Qualifications and Experience

  • GMC Registration that allows work in the UK in non‑training posts.
  • Desirable experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices, or equivalent.

Benefits

Salary range: £52,656 to £65,048 per year, plus additional supplement for extra hours worked.

Reporting & Leadership

The post holder reports to the Clinical Directors of the Medicine Directorate (Dr Ella Chaudhuri and Dr Jarrod Richards). The Divisional Operations Director is Ben Hewlett.
