The Welfare Officer / School Welfare and First Aid Lead is a key role within the school. The successful candidate will lead on the day-to-day medical and welfare provision for students and staff, ensuring that pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn. You will provide frontline first aid, oversee medical needs and care plans, administer medication, maintain accurate records and work closely with pastoral leaders, safeguarding staff, attendance teams and families.

The role would suit someone who:

  • enjoys working with young people;
  • remains calm under pressure;
  • is highly organised and compassionate;
  • values teamwork and professional standards;
  • has experience in a school, healthcare, pastoral or emergency response environment.

Formal medical qualifications are not essential, however experience as a trained first aider, healthcare professional, paramedic, teaching assistant, pastoral worker or within a care setting would be advantageous.
