North Bay Group is a values-driven care provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care across its portfolio of care homes. We are now seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead operational excellence, clinical quality, and governance across the Group. This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to the Managing Director, with responsibility for Regional Directors, operational teams, and quality support functions.

The Role

As Operations Director, you will have overall responsibility for the operational, clinical, and quality performance of North Bay Group’s care homes. You will ensure services consistently deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care while meeting regulatory, governance, and commercial objectives. You will play a key role in shaping group-wide strategy, strengthening leadership capability, and embedding a strong culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across all care homes within the Group
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred, and compliant care
  • Provide clinical oversight and assurance across services
  • Ensure all homes adhere to the Group’s governance pathway and quality frameworks
  • Lead regulatory compliance and maintain inspection readiness at all times
  • Carry out regular trend analysis across quality, incidents, complaints, and outcomes, taking action as required
  • Lead, coach, and develop Regional Directors, Home Managers, and the Quality team
  • Drive strong operational and financial performance, including occupancy and cost control
  • Provide clear, accurate operational reporting to the Managing Director

About You:

You will be a confident, credible senior leader with experience managing multiple care services and leading teams through change and improvement.

Essential:

  • Senior operational leadership experience within care homes or the wider health and social care sector
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and inspection processes
  • Proven ability to lead and develop senior management teams
  • Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and performance
  • Willingness to travel across multiple sites

Desirable:

  • Experience at Director or Regional Director level within a care group
  • Track record of improving quality ratings and turning around services
  • Experience supporting growth, acquisitions, or service development
  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with an active PIN
