We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Procurement to lead and shape procurement across our growing care home organisation. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving value, ensuring compliance, and delivering high-quality sourcing solutions that support exceptional resident care and safety.

You will play a critical role in optimising supplier relationships, streamlining procurement operations, and embedding best practices across multiple sites.

Procurement Strategy
  • Develop and implement a procurement strategy aligned with organisational goals and care sector regulations
  • Lead procurement operations across multiple brands to drive efficiencies and cost savings
  • Develop and maintain procurement and contract management policies and procedures
Supplier & Contract Management
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value and quality
  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and resolve service issues
  • Ensure all contracts meet legal and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee procurement across key areas including:
  • Food and catering supplies
  • Medical and clinical consumables (including PPE)
  • Laundry and housekeeping supplies
  • Utilities and waste management
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant legislation and care sector standards
  • Support compliance with regulatory bodies such as CQC
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks
Budget & Financial Management
  • Manage procurement budgets and monitor expenditure
  • Deliver measurable cost savings without compromising quality of care
  • Provide monthly performance reporting at board level
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven experience in a senior procurement leadership role
  • Strong negotiation and contract management expertise
  • Experience managing procurement across multiple sites
  • Solid understanding of procurement regulations and supply chain management
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness
  • Experience using procurement and ERP systems
  • Professional procurement qualifications
  • Knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to lead complex, multi-site projects from inception to completion
