We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Procurement to lead and shape procurement across our growing care home organisation. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving value, ensuring compliance, and delivering high-quality sourcing solutions that support exceptional resident care and safety.
You will play a critical role in optimising supplier relationships, streamlining procurement operations, and embedding best practices across multiple sites.
- Procurement Strategy
- Develop and implement a procurement strategy aligned with organisational goals and care sector regulations.
- Lead procurement operations across multiple brands to drive efficiencies and cost savings.
- Develop and maintain procurement and contract management policies and procedures.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value and quality.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and resolve service issues.
- Ensure all contracts meet legal and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee procurement across key areas including:
- Food and catering supplies.
- Medical and clinical consumables (including PPE).
- Laundry and housekeeping supplies.
- Utilities and waste management.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant legislation and care sector standards.
- Support compliance with regulatory bodies such as CQC.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Manage procurement budgets and monitor expenditure.
- Deliver measurable cost savings without compromising quality of care.
- Provide monthly performance reporting at board level.
Proven experience in a senior procurement leadership role, strong negotiation and contract management expertise, experience managing procurement across multiple sites, solid understanding of procurement regulations and supply chain management, strong financial and commercial awareness, experience using procurement and ERP systems, professional procurement qualifications, knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory frameworks, ability to lead complex, multi-site projects from inception to completion, effective risk management and problem-solving capabilities.
