ER Advisor - Leeds (LS15) - Full Time / Permanent
About the role
North Bay Group is looking for an experienced and approachable Employee Relations Advisor to join our People Services team in Leeds.
This is a great opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working closely with managers, providing practical advice and helping to resolve employee relations matters fairly, consistently and effectively.
You’ll be a key point of support for managers across the organisation, providing first-line advice across a broad range of employee relations matters. You’ll have the opportunity to manage your own caseload, develop your employment law knowledge and play an important role in delivering a positive colleague experience.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide practical HR and employee relations support to managers across North Bay, including:
- Providing day-to-day advice and guidance on employee relations matters
- Supporting managers with sickness absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance cases
- Advising on capability and conduct concerns
- Supporting managers through formal and informal employee relations processes
- Preparing case documentation, letters and correspondence
- Ensuring cases are managed fairly, consistently and within agreed timescales
- Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records
- Encouraging early intervention and informal resolution where appropriate
- Keeping up to date with employment legislation, HR best practice and company policies
- Escalating complex or high-risk cases where appropriate
- Building strong working relationships with managers and colleagues
- Contributing to the development of People Services resources, guidance and processes
- Supporting wider People Services projects and initiatives
About you
We’re looking for someone who has previous experience in an Employee Relations, HR Advisor or HR Officer position and is confident providing practical advice to managers.
You’ll ideally have:
- Practical experience of employee relations processes
- A good understanding of employment legislation
- Experience supporting managers with a range of people matters
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively
- A professional, approachable and customer-focused attitude
- The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- A practical and solution-focused approach
- The resilience and adaptability to work in a busy environment
Qualifications
Ideally, you will hold CIPD Level 3 and be working towards CIPD Level 5, or have equivalent practical HR experience.
CIPD Associate Membership and an ongoing interest in Employee Relations or Employment Law would be advantageous.
