Job Summary

This post is based in Foxgrove, the new National Secure Adolescent Inpatient Service for Scotland. Situated in the grounds of Ayrshire Central Hospital Campus in Irvine, Foxgrove is a 12 bedded inpatient unit for young people aged 12 to 18 years who have complex difficulties and need a high level of care in a secure environment. As part of a small team of Teachers, you will be responsible for the delivery of teaching and learning to young people admitted to the unit. Flexible, individualised curriculums will be required for young people, built on SQA and other wider achievement qualifications. This post is based in a unique educational setting and the ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young people will be essential to delivering the best possible educational outcomes for young people. Applications are invited from GTCS registered teachers who have an understanding of adolescent mental health and can make a positive impact to the recovery of young people. Applicants should note that teaching staff working within Foxgrove will be required to engage in specific training provided by NHS Scotland and adhere to security protocols.
