Reporting to the Headteacher, you will assist in the management and delivery of education for children and young people attending Lamlash Primary School.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and highly motivated individual who is committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for all young people within our unique island community. The successful candidate will be a visible and approachable leader with a strong commitment to inclusion, equity and positive relationships across our school and wider Arran community. They will demonstrate the ability to lead improvement collaboratively, support staff development and contribute positively to the strategic direction of the school.
Working within a rural island setting requires flexibility, resilience and a willingness to contribute fully to the wider life of the school and community. We are looking for someone who is innovative, adaptable and passionate about creating high-quality learning experiences and opportunities for every learner. This post has a start date of August 2026.
As part of the selection process we ask that you provide ONE completed reference alongside your application form. References will be read in conjunction with your application form. Your second referee will be contacted by North Ayrshire Council if you are the preferred candidate for the post. References should be received before the closing date for the vacancy.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by North Ayrshire Council.
Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant PVG check, which will be deducted from your salary following commencement of employment.
