Children and Families service in North Ayrshire is undertaking an exciting time of change and we are recruiting experienced Social Workers to join our redesigned Child Protection Team. The developments within our Child Protection Team will ensure families are supported by one team and worker throughout the period where they require Social Work support.
We have implemented Signs of Safety and Safe and Together and redesigned our key Children and Families paperwork utilising these models to assist practitioners to have the tools to work where at all possible in collaboration with families and their networks. We feel these best support change where child welfare/child protection worries are identified and enables workers to spend their time focused on relationships and working directly with families.
We would like you to have a sound knowledge and skill base in relation to understanding the complex issues that surround child protection work. We are passionate about making sure families receive the right support at the right time and that our workers get the opportunity to provide effective support that improves outcomes for children.

PVG (both): This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children or protected adults. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by North Ayrshire Council. Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant PVG check (£59 or £18), which will be deducted from your salary following commencement of employment.

Each post in the council has been allocated one of these styles: Agile – 100% of time spent working agile (flexibly) and interacting with others. Able to work at home, office or multiple locations.
