This post has a start date of August 2026. We may conduct our interviews in person or using Microsoft Teams for video calling. All you need is a device with a camera and access to the internet. Reporting to the Headteacher, you will assist in the management and delivery of education for children and young people attending Arran High School.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and highly motivated individual who is committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for all young people within our unique island community. The successful candidate will be a visible and approachable leader with a strong commitment to inclusion, equity and positive relationships across our school and wider Arran community.

They will demonstrate the ability to lead improvement collaboratively, support staff development and contribute positively to the strategic direction of the school. Working within a rural island setting requires flexibility, resilience and a willingness to contribute fully to the wider life of the school and community.

We are looking for someone who is innovative, adaptable and passionate about creating high-quality learning experiences and opportunities for every learner.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by North Ayrshire Council.

Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant PVG check (£59 or £18), which will be deducted from your salary following commencement of employment.
