Position Overview Anesthesiologist opportunity at growing community-based Exeter Hospital surrounded by scenic New Hampshire. Exeter Hospital is a level 3 trauma center located in Exeter, New Hampshire. Exeter is a medically directed site with a good amount of autonomy as well as a team approach giving this community-based practice a small-town feel and collegial working environment. It is conveniently located, being less than an hour from Boston and Portland, which is great for commuters within the family. Exeter is located next to the seacoast, and within close distance to mountains. This superb location has great access to outdoor activities and notable schools, such as Phillips Exeter Academy. It is considered a great place for family living and community. There is no state income tax or sales tax. Anesthesiologists work in a care-team model. Mix of solo cases and supervising cases. Responsibilities Case assignments: General surgery, ortho, endo, ENT, GYN, labor and delivery, ophthalmology, urology, vascular, plastics, healthy peds, dental. No head/hearts or chronic pain. Epidurals, Blocks/Lines are frequent and expected. Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures Pre-anesthesia assessment Obtains and/or verifies patient consent Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia Monitoring of the patient’s physiological condition Performance of clinical intervention as needed Requirements Schedule: 4-day work week. Call is 1 in 7 weekends. Monday-Thursday night float system. Additional pay for additional call (not beeper call). M.D./D.O.
