Responsibilities
- Dental Assistant partners with the practice team to provide excellent clinical support to help patients get the care they need.
- Help prepare the patient for treatment and assist the dentist in restorative dentistry.
- Provides excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to Doctors and Hygienists which includes but is not limited to: charting, operatory set/clean up, and patient education.
- Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
- Reviews the daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments.
- Prepares patients, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, maintains chain of asepsis, prepares materials, and assists dentists during dental procedures following OSHA guidelines.
- Exposes and develops dental diagnostic radiographs.
- Follows OSHA regulations and safety requirements to include compliance with HIPAA guidelines, CPR, X-rays, and other required certifications and registrations.
Qualifications
- Dental Assisting Certification required.
- 1-5 years of experience preferred; will consider new graduates.
- Radiography/X-RAY certification required.
- CPR Certification required.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Commitment to providing exceptional service, support, and education to patients.
