SIGN ON BONUS - FT $1,500, PT $750
Salary based on years experience (doesn't include shift diffs) - $18.00 - $22.09/hr. Weekly Pay, Day 1 low cost benefits, 403B retirement plan, Generous PTO, Career advancement opportunities, Stepping stone program (pay for RN/LPN tuition).
The primary purpose of this position is to provide quality nursing care to residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan, and as directed by your supervisor. Home health aide (HHA) or certified nursing assistant (CNA) required.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing quality nursing care to residents in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice and individuality.
- Demonstrating respect, attention and awareness toward the diversity among the people we serve (residents, families, caregivers, etc.) through their attitude, service and actions.
- Being knowledgeable of the individualized care plan for residents and providing support to the resident in accordance with their care plan.
- Identifying and participating in QAPI process or leave as area of development.
- Assisting in daily requirements and tasks in care and treatment of residents, including bathroom assistance, general personal hygiene, dressing, mobility assistance and food intake.
- Maintaining resident rights and confidentiality.
- Documenting all ADLs in electronic health record.
- Observing and reporting symptoms, reactions and other changes in condition promptly.
- Routinely turning and positioning residents as required by care plan.
- Complying with all aspects of residents' rights and promptly reporting any incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violations of resident rights to the charge nurse or administration.
- Honouring resident right to refuse care and reporting such refusal to nurse supervisor.
- Assisting in maintaining a safe, neat and clean environment.
- Answering resident call bells promptly and courteously.
- Ensuring that residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently.
- Taking and documenting temperature, pulse and respiration rates, food and fluid intake and output, and heights and weights and recording in EHR.
- Ambulating and transferring residents using the appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
- Using only the equipment you have been trained to use, operating in a safer manner and reporting any defective equipment to supervisor immediately.
- Communicating and interacting effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
- Assisting and escorting residents to appointments such as the hair salon or attending activities, church services or doctor's appointments.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred but not required.
- Completion and proof of a PCA/HHA training program that meets the 54 training hour requirement from EOEAP.
- Previous experience working in long term care/assisted living community preferred.
- Previous experience working with dementia residents.
