ROLE OUTLINE

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop within a finance function in a global organisation. The UK Finance team operates as a close‐knit unit supported by a highly skilled shared service function in Hungary. Reporting to the Head of UK Finance, the Credit Controller will take ownership of credit control and accounts receivable activities while supporting the Shared Service Centre (GBSF) with accounts payable queries. The role also involves contributing to finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the business. It is well suited to an individual with accounts receivable and credit control experience who is looking to develop their career within a dynamic, commercially focused environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage customer accounts to ensure timely collection balances in line with agreed credit terms.
  • Monitor and forecast cash receipts, highlighting risks and delays proactively.
  • Oversee credit insurance declarations and prepare quarterly submissions.
  • Hold weekly credit control meetings with the sales teams.
  • Act as the key contact for the Shared Service Centre (GBSF) across AR, AP and related processes.
  • Monitor and report on key KPIs such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and Average Delinquency Days (ADD).
  • Calculate customer rebates and process related credit notes accurately.
  • Review and approve customer credit applications, ensuring appropriate risk assessment and documentation.
  • Support external auditors with accounts receivable queries and documentation.
  • Act as local Vendor Invoice Management key user when required.
  • Complete day‐to‐day finance administration tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls.

Your Experience & Skills

  • Experience working within accounts receivable and credit control.
  • Previous experience within a finance environment.
  • Basic understanding of financial data, credit reports, and KPIs.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and gain new experiences within a forward‐looking, commercially driven organisation at the forefront of sustainability.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively across teams and with customers.
  • Experience with SAP (ideally, but not required) and Power BI (if available).
  • Self‐motivated with a proactive approach to problem‐solving and continuous improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail with a good understanding of business impact.
  • Experience within manufacturing or construction (desirable).
  • Understanding of VAT fundamentals.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Can self‐motivate, prioritise and manage own workload.
  • Full UK Drivers Licence (desirable).
