We are a collaborative practice with a broad range of experience, providing opportunities to contribute meaningfully to project delivery across a wide range of RIBA Stages. South West Norse is also committed to supporting emerging talent, working closely with apprentices and work-placement students. Our work is primarily focussed on the education sector – spanning early years, primary and secondary schools, further and higher education, and SEND provision. Alongside this, we deliver a diverse range of projects across other commercial sectors for public and private clients offering a varied, stimulating, and rewarding workload.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of architectural design services by contributing to technical outputs across multiple project stages.
  • Produce accurate and high-quality technical drawings, specifications, and construction information in line with project requirements.
  • Prepare and submit Planning and Building Control applications, ensuring all statutory approvals are obtained in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proficient in Revit (essential) with working knowledge of Autodesk 2D drafting software.
  • Experience using the NBS Chorus specification platform is desirable.
  • Strong design, technical, and construction understanding, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively in project work.
  • Good awareness of UK Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act, and general construction methods.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a design team, contributing positively to shared deadlines and project outcomes.
  • Solid technical detailing skills relevant to both new-build and existing-building projects.
  • A proactive and positive approach, with enthusiasm for learning, problem-solving, and working as part of a team.
  • Working toward CIAT or an equivalent professional accreditation is desirable, with training and funding support available to assist progression.

Salary & Hours

£23,000 - £33,000 (Dependent on experience), 37 Hours per week (working 9-5 with flexible working arrangements)
