Overview
Cook – Sydney House Care Home role within Norse Group. You will prepare and cook food, supervise the onsite catering team and ensure the delivery of the catering service in the absence of the Cook Manager. The onsite care team will provide essential requirements of residents using a detailed catering handover sheet to ensure a collaborative, person-centred approach to care. Our central team will support you in managing food safety, health and safety and food allergens, while our menu, promotions and compliance teams provide menu cycles, nutritional information, IDDSI menus and promotional posters to help you focus on food. An electronic tablet will provide access to the kitchen management system and act as a communication tool, keeping paperwork to a minimum.
What we are looking for
You will have previous experience working in a busy kitchen with an organised approach, alongside a good understanding of the food industry, ideally with knowledge of textured modified diets (IDDSI) and working to a set budget. A passion for delivering fantastic customer service is essential, and you should demonstrate strong communication skills with an adaptable approach to work. Salary and hours
Cook – Sydney House Care Home — £13.79 per hour. 28.5 hours per week. Roster: Tuesday 08:00–14:00; Wednesday 07:30–18:00; Thursday 07:30–18:00; Week 2: Monday 07:30–18:00; Tuesday 08:00–14:00; Saturday 07:30–18:00; Sunday 07:30–18:00.

A day in the life: You will become an integral part of our residents’ home through daily interaction, not just at mealtimes, and ensure the world of food is available to all, including those with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. The social aspect of dining and the nutritious content of meals are part of your focus.
