£31,283.20 per annum
Our Norse Group TFM Division are a lead FM services provider across Norfolk, specialising in a range of Soft and Hard TFM services on behalf of Norfolk County Council. We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi Skilled Carpenter to join our experienced team in Norwich on a full-time, permanent basis.
As a Carpenter, you will carry out a variety of building maintenance repairs & project support. This will include repairing and replacing Fire Door sets with certified training to be provided if required.
You will also assist other trades as and when required. Duties will include:
- Assisting with electrical repairs and minor building maintenance tasks on a pre-planned and reactive basis which may include the testing of emergency system e.g.: Fire doors, emergency lighting, fire alarms etc. or completion of minor works/building maintenance tasks.
- Installation, Inspection and repairs to Fire Door sets and associated door furniture.
- Working at height, assisting with changing lamps and control gear of external lighting
- Liaising with contractors and ensuring that staff are competent in role.
- Communicating effectively with customers and adapting to their requirements.
- Scheduling and prioritize workload with local managers and customers, ensuring business requirements are met.
- When required, you will be expected to work as part of the On Call Team covering high priority work outside of normal working hours.
Our Successful Candidate:
- Experience of maintenance work within a commercial environment with knowledge of other trades would be advantageous.
- Hold a recognised Carpentry or Fire Door Inspection qualification would be advantageous
- General building maintenance experience (Basic plumbing, re-lamping and simple electrical issues)
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work on your own initiative but will also be happy to work as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence to meet travelling requirements for the role
