D1 Driver
Rochester
£13.19 Per hour
22.5 Hours per week
We are recruiting for Minibus Drivers to join our team in Rochester, on a permanent, part-time basis working 22.5 hours per week. Shift times vary but are usually between 07:00 AM – 09:30 AM, and 14:30 PM – 17:00 PM, Monday to Friday during term-time.
You will be working alongside the Passenger Assistant, you will be responsible for collecting and taking clients to and from specific locations within the Medway area.
This role will include transport to and from a number of day cares and schools, therefore it is important that you are able to support passenger’s needs whilst prioritising safety.
Main Responsibilities:
- Acting as first point of contact with passenger assistant between passengers, parents, carers, and staff.
- Responsibility for safety, welfare, and proper conduct of passengers in accordance with their emotional or physical needs.
- Ensure PA is on board when transporting passengers.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks, fuelling and cleaning duties to specific standards and report immediately any vehicle defects or accidents to Line Manager.
- Complete all driving records for each journey, as required, and any other relevant paperwork as may be necessary or requested.
- Work the hours necessary to meet the needs of service delivery.
- Ensure the service is provided in accordance with company standards and objectives.
- You will be required to attend mandatory training during half terms to adhere to contracts required.
Your Experience:
- Full UK Driving Licence with Category D1 entitlement
- Previous experience of driving passenger carrying vehicles
- Good geographical knowledge of Medway and the surrounding areas
- The individual is fit and reliable.
- Has sufficient command of spoken and written English.
- Activities meet the ongoing and changing needs of clients and customers.
- Experience of working with passengers with complex needs is an advantage.
