Norse Highways, Kings Lynn Depot, Norfolk - PE34 3AQ £30,283.50 - £32,495.44per year (based on experience) 39 Hours per week Monday to Friday Norse Highways are looking to recruit Roadworkers to their experienced team, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has worked within the Highways industry before.
The successful candidate will be working in an everchanging role and will assist with resolving emergency situations.
As a Roadworker you will also be responsible for maintaining and constructing roads, footpaths, sewers, drainage signs.
This position is vital for the upkeep and development of public infrastructure.
This position is being offered on a Full time, Permanent contract working 39 hours per week at our depot in Kings Lynn.
You will be required to work some evenings and weekends as part of the contractual arrangements, this will include enhanced pay rates further information will be provided at interview stage.
Main
Responsibilities: Safe keeping and operation of significant plant including vehicles up to LGV (C+E), heavy rollers, loading shovels, etc. including responsibility for their daily maintenance.
Completion of accurate written and electronic work records and other documents.
Setting out and laying kerbing, drainage, concrete work, flag and black paving, bricklaying, drains, installing gullies, manholes and catchment pits.
Erection and removal of signs and barriers, work on highways furniture, fencing and road markings and the general highways environment.
Placing, spreading, levelling and compaction of stone, coated materials, concrete, etc. to accurate levels.
Excavation of soil, rock, asphalt, concrete using hand and powered tools.
Cut back hedges that are overhanging the highway and grass cutting.
Hand sweeping, loading, unloading and general handling of materials and equipment.
Responsible for guiding and instructing roadworkers and Apprentices when required.
To take the lead on site in the absence of a Ganger.
