Norse Groups SHEQ department have a fantastic opportunity for a Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Advisor to join the team on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The role
As HSE Advisor, you will be part of a team of HS&E specialists assisting the Head of HSE in the delivery of health, safety and environmental strategies and related activities throughout the Norse Group.
To assist the Norse Group in the fulfilment of the safety, health, environmental requirements and the promotion of certified ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 management system.
- Other day to day duties will include but are not limited to;
- Assist with and prepare written reports following the completion of health, safety and environmental visits.
- Support the health safety and environment team with the successful completion of the management system objectives and project work in accordance with agreed timescales.
- Identify hazards and probable risks assisting and advising service managers in the development of suitable risk controls and safe systems of working.
- Support the development of aspects and impacts registers and their maintenance.
- Undertake and assist with RIDDOR investigations ensuring correct procedures are followed, conclusions and recommendations are based on factual evidence and findings and reports completed within agreed timescales.
- Undertake accident and environmental incidents investigation supporting the business areas identify actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Carry out and assist with safety inspections and active monitoring, reporting outcomes and corrective actions to the responsible service manager.
- To continue to develop and maintain a good level of understanding of relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, initiatives and industry trends.
- Working with management and staff ensure that all risk assessments, method statements, transport management plans and safe working procedures are suitable and sufficient and communicated effectively
Our Successful Candidate
- Proven experience within a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor role or similar
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- ISEP Foundation Certificate in Sustainability and Environmental Management (or working/willing to work towards)
- Previously Carry out accident investigations, including RIDDOR investigations.
- Knowledge of ISO standards 45001 and 14001.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Will travel as required to meet the business needs.
