Norse Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Finance Team, this will be on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role of Business Intelligence Engineer is pivotal to the development of the Business Intelligence (BI) capability of the group. Ensuring BI is developed and delivered securely and efficiently from a Group perspective, maximising the value from, and ensuring the quality of all BI dashboards and reports. Working closely with the Group IT Team, Senior Finance Team, and other Support functions such as HR, as well as operational managers to ensure that it is possible to track and then present KPIs effectively across the Group.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and development of the Group Microsoft Fabric data environment
  • Design and maintain data ingestion pipelines from multiple source systems
  • Develop and maintain data models to support reporting and analytics
  • Working alongside the Finance Business Partners, HR team along with Senior Operational managers, to automate the production of key reports and KPIs displaying these in interactive dashboards.
  • Ensuring the dashboard, reporting and design process uses the most appropriate formats to gain maximum user engagement and insight.
  • Ensuring the data integrity of all reports, dashboards, and analysis.
  • Assist in the governance and documentation of BI solutions, including data dictionaries and report inventories.
  • Actively seeking opportunities to add value where possible.
  • Sharing knowledge to those using reports, enabling them to self-serve and develop ad hoc reports confidently where relevant.
  • Maintaining a strong relationship with our Support Partner’s through quarterly review meetings.

Our Successful Candidate:

It is essential that you have a keen interest in developing a career within a systems focussed, finance role, we are also looking for you to demonstrate;

  • Hands on experience with Microsoft Fabric including OneLake, Lakehouse, Delta, Data Pipelines, Dataflows and semantic models
  • Solid understanding of Fabric, Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and data modelling best practices and modern Lakehouse architectures
  • Experience building ETL or ELT pipelines using Fabric Data Pipelines or Azure Data Factory.
  • Ability to provide strategic input to the Group BI development pipeline.
  • Ability to effectively work with a variety of finance and operations colleagues to identify key business drivers.
