Covering Newton Abbot and surrounding areas (Plymouth, Ashburton, etc.).

Salary: £13.13 per hour, equivalent to £27,304.18 per annum (based on a 40-hour working week).

Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day between 9:30am and 2:30pm (school term‑times only).

South West Norse is established in delivering catering, cleaning, and facilities management services to a portfolio of clients in the local region in partnership with Devon County Council, combining local knowledge with service delivery expertise.

As we recognise the importance of building a strong kitchen team to be a key ingredient to our catering success, we currently have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Mobile Catering Assistant to join our well-equipped teams across Newton Abbot and the surrounding areas. This role is being offered on a permanent, part-time basis working during school term‑times only!

The role

You will be joining multiple on‑site kitchen teams, supporting all aspects of the catering service including ensuring completion of the preparation, cooking, presentation and service of our nutritious food and beverage outlets to students and staff while complying with food hygiene, health and safety and QA procedures. This customer‑facing role will provide you with great exposure to all aspects of the catering environment with lots of opportunities to learn and develop your skills within the industry.

  • Capable of working to deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Working within a team.

As this is a mobile position, you will need your own personal vehicle and hold a Full UK Driving Licence and business‑use insurance is required.
