We are seeking an experienced Street Works Site Supervisor for a two-week non-working contract role. You will be responsible for overseeing all on-site street works activity, ensuring full compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), and maintaining safe working practices throughout the duration of the works.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all street works operations in accordance with NRSWA legislation and the Safety at Street Works Code of Practice
- Ensure correct signing, lighting, and guarding (SLG) is in place at all times
- Liaise with the highway authority, utility companies, and other stakeholders
- Monitor and enforce safe working practices and site compliance
- Conduct site briefings and toolbox talks as required
- Maintain accurate site records and documentation
- Report any issues, near misses, or incidents to the project manager
Requirements
- Valid NRSWA Supervisor card (Unit 1–4 or equivalent) — mandatory; applications without this will not be considered
- Proven experience in a street works supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of the Safety at Street Works and Road Works Code of Practice
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to start at short notice
