We are looking for 2 experienced groundworkers to join a busy road construction project based in Norwich. Candidates must hold a valid CSCS card and have proven experience in groundworks and civil engineering works. Experience on a dumper or roller is preferred but not essential.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in groundworks and civil engineering
  • Experience operating dumpers and/or rollers on site (preferred, not essential)
  • Valid CSCS card (blue or gold preferred)
  • CPCS / NPORS card for plant operation (desirable)
  • Experience on large civil or highways contracts (preferred)
  • Own PPE and tools (hard hat, hi-vis, steel toe caps)
  • Reliable and able to start on short notice

Typical duties on a large road building project:

  • Excavation and bulk earthworks, including dig and trim to formation levels
  • Operating dumpers to move and distribute materials around site
  • Operating pedestrian or ride-on rollers for compaction of sub-base and capping layers
  • Installation of drainage systems including pipes, gullies, manholes and kerb drainage
  • Laying and compacting sub-base, Type 1 and road base materials
