Overview
Norse Group's Fleet department have an opportunity for a Fleet Compliance Officer to join the team based in Norwich. The position will be based in Norwich for 2 or more days per week; the rest of the week will require travel to Norse locations across the country.
We are seeking someone to support the Group Head of Fleet with the compliance of Norse Group's mixed fleet of vehicles, including O licence and light commercial vehicle operations consisting of specialist HGV, van, minibus and grounds/plant equipment across the Norse group.
Key Responsibilities- Visit Norse sites across the country to support fleet operations, including overnight stays in some circumstances.
- Remotely monitor fleet operations using software such as R2C and other fleet telematics systems.
- Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc compliance audits of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance activities, and documentation.
- Audit internal and external maintenance providers to ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and company standards.
- Support the mobilisation of new fleets and assist with Operator Licence applications for new and existing business activities.
- Maintain accurate compliance records, audit findings, and supporting documentation.
- Collate, monitor, and report fleet compliance KPIs, highlighting trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Monitor and report on unplanned defects and driver-reported defects identified during planned safety inspections.
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing maintenance of QMS management systems and associated compliance processes.
- Support communication of changes to transport, health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance compliance and reduce risk exposure.
It is essential that you have:
- A Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience and understanding of legislation relating to compliant operation of vehicles.
- Knowledge of vehicle road worthiness and driver standards.
- Experience of Operator Licencing standards.
- Ability to travel across to different Norse Group sites in the country, including the occasional overnight stay.
Though not essential, it would be desirable if you have:
- Road Transport CPC qualification.
- Vehicle Maintenance experience.
- Experience with Fleet Software Systems, such as R2C.
