This is an exciting opportunity to oversee facilities management activities across a combination of client-facing operational sites and wider offsite properties, helping ensure buildings remain compliant, well maintained, and fit for purpose.
As Facilities Manager, you will oversee day to day facilities operations, statutory compliance, and maintenance coordination across the portfolio, ensuring planned and reactive works are effectively prioritised and managed in line with contractual requirements. You will lead a small on-site facilities team, working closely with contractors, stakeholders, and internal departments to maintain service delivery standards and support the smooth operation of the contract.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance and compliance activities across the portfolio, ensuring statutory obligations are met and a consistent approach is applied across all sites.
- Line manage and support a team of facilities staff, ensuring effective deployment of resources and maintenance of service delivery standards.
- Maintain accurate asset, maintenance, and compliance records within CAFM systems, ensuring all works are logged, auditable, and follow agreed processes.
- Monitor maintenance programmes and ensure works are scheduled, prioritised, and completed in line with operational requirements.
- Provide facilities management support across client-facing sites, responding to reactive issues and coordinating contractor attendance where required.
- Take ownership of asbestos management across the portfolio, ensuring all asbestos registers, surveys, remedial actions, and contractor compliance are properly managed, recorded, and auditable.
- Support the development and implementation of standardised compliance processes across the portfolio, promoting consistent record keeping and maintenance practices.
- Ensure contractors and team members follow site procedures, safe systems of work, and health and safety requirements when undertaking maintenance activities.
- Obtain quotations and assist with the coordination of remedial works, repairs, and minor maintenance projects where required.
- Liaise with internal departments, contractors, and client stakeholders to ensure service issues are addressed efficiently.
- Support operational service delivery, including occasional front of house cover where required.
- Assist with audits and inspections, supporting follow-up actions where necessary.
Key Qualifications
- Proven experience delivering Facilities Management services across multi-site property portfolios.
- Previous experience managing or supervising teams within facilities, operational, or service-led environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and manage workload effectively within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing contractors and service providers to ensure delivery against agreed standards and timescales.
- Good knowledge of statutory compliance, Health and Safety, and associated property legislation.
- Understanding of asbestos management principles and duty holder responsibilities under the Control of Asbestos Regulations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels.
- Proficiency in CAFM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- A valid SIA licence, or willingness to obtain one, to support occasional operational cover requirements.
- A full UK driving licence to meet travel requirements.
