- Week 1: Tues 08:00-18:00, Thurs & Fri 07:30-18:00
- Week 2: Thurs, Sat & Sun 07:30-18:00
A day in the life:
You will become an integral part of our resident's home through daily interaction, not just at mealtimes but throughout your working day. Our aim is to ensure the wonderful world of food is available to all, including those with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. The social aspect of dining and the nutritious content of meals is fundamental to the health and wellbeing of residents in our care settings.
Your role will involve preparing and cooking food, supervising the onsite catering team and ensuring the delivery of the catering service in the absence of the Cook Manager. The onsite care team will provide you with essential requirements of residents using a detailed catering handover sheet to ensure a collaborative approach to person-centred care. Our central team will support you in managing food safety, health and safety and food allergens whilst our dedicated menu, promotions and compliance teams will provide you with menu cycles, nutritional information, IDDSI menus and promotional posters giving you time to focus on food. Our electronic tablet will provide you with access to our kitchen management system and act as a communication tool providing you with regular updates and keeping paperwork to a minimum.
What are we looking for from you?
You will have previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment with an organised approach, alongside a good understanding of the food industry ideally with knowledge of textured modified diets (IDDSI) and working to a set budget. A passion for delivering fantastic customer service is essential, and we will be looking for you to demonstrate strong communication skills with an adaptable approach to work. Rebecca Court is our residential care home in Heacham. The Home provides short-term and full-time care and support.
