Step into the role

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, solving real operational problems, and supporting businesses across engineering, manufacturing, construction and a wide range of workplace environments.

Working with a varied client base, you will provide practical health and safety advice, undertake site inspections, audits and risk assessments, develop safe systems of work, and deliver improvement plans.

This role is about more than producing documentation – you'll help clients implement sensible, effective and proportionate health and safety arrangements that make a real difference.

The role would suit someone who is confident working on site, able to communicate effectively with both senior management and operational teams, and looking to develop into a Senior Consultant position as the business continues to grow.

  • Carry out client site visits, inspections, audits and health and safety reviews.
  • Develop and review risk assessments, safe systems of work and method statements.
  • Support clients with practical health and safety action plans.
  • Provide competent advice across general workplace health and safety matters.
  • Review operational controls across engineering, manufacturing, construction and maintenance environments.
  • Support contractor control, statutory inspection records and compliance evidence.
  • Assist with health and safety management systems, including ISO 45001 where required.
  • Produce clear, professional reports with practical recommendations.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, managers, supervisors and operational teams.
  • Our Offer
  • £35,000 – £38,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
  • 37.5 hours per week, full time, permanent position.
  • Hybrid, based at Brighter Compliance Limited (4 Vita House, Fish Quay, North Shields, NE30 1JA), with regular travel to client sites.
  • 24 days leave plus bank holidays. (+1 day with every year of service, capped at 28 days).

This role provides a clear pathway toward a Senior Health & Safety Consultant position.

As the successful candidate develops, they will have the opportunity to take greater ownership of client relationships, lead more complex projects and support the growth of Brighter Compliance’s health and safety services.
