Normative is now looking for a Senior Legal Counsel for our team in London. Normative helps companies to understand and reduce their carbon footprints towards their journey to Net Zero through science-based carbon accounting products and tailored advice from net zero experts. We are seeking a passionate and experienced hands-on Senior Legal Counsel to join our dynamic legal team based in London.

This is an important role with the scope to make a real impact as we grow. As Senior Legal Counsel, you will possess a deep understanding of legal principles, have a proven track record of success in managing and executing legal projects, and the ability to coach and lead high-performing individuals.

What you will do:

  • Play a pivotal part in ensuring Normative’s compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, providing strategic guidance to the business, and developing and implementing best practices across the organisation.
  • Provide comprehensive legal advice and support to the business across all areas of legal operation.
  • Work closely and collaborate with existing members of the team, ensuring effective workflow & productivity.
  • Identify and implement new, innovative and automated ways of working, utilising technology to scale and drive greater operational efficiencies & standardisations.
  • Draft and review complex legal agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support the business's strategic decision-making.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging legal trends and developments within the industry.
  • Identify and assess legal risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement effective risk management practices.
  • Represent Normative in legal proceedings and negotiations, as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Experience we’re seeking:

  • Are UK qualified with 4+ years PQE and in-house experience.
  • Can confidently think strategically, but also execute on a granular level as needed.
  • Are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, global organisation with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Possess excellent understanding of English legal principles and regulations & have excellent command of both spoken and written English.

We also believe you:

  • Possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships & effectively present legal information to various stakeholders in a simple way.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire legal professionals.
  • Have experience working with corporate law and corporate affairs will be a bonus but not essential.

Location: Normative has offices in Stockholm, London and Copenhagen. For this role, you will be located in our office in London working on a hybrid policy. At this time we are not able to offer relocation or VISA support for this position.
