Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Employers Agent to join our team, focusing on the post-contract delivery of affordable housing schemes. This role is pivotal in ensuring successful project delivery for Housing Associations and other stakeholders, maintaining quality, cost control, and compliance throughout the construction phase. This role requires a clean Driving licence and the ability to efficiently manage a geographical area of sites monthly.

Requirements

  • Act as Employers Agent on affordable housing projects, primarily during post-contract stages.
  • Oversee delivery of schemes in line with contractual obligations and client requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
  • Lead progress meetings, producing agendas, meeting notes and managing the Request for Information process.
  • Value works on site, prepare and issue Payment Certificates/Notices in accordance with contract terms.
  • Manage variations, assess contractor claims, lead negotiations and maintain accurate project records.
  • Produce Cost reports to manage costs and financial performance.
  • Liaise with Housing Associations, contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Provide technical advice and resolve issues promptly to maintain programme and quality standards.
  • Prepare reports for clients and stakeholders on project status.
  • Lead Risk management process, to include identification, mitigation, allocation of actions and if required costing of the residual risk.
  • Understand obligations regarding Health and Safety on site.
  • Understand how to assess quality of workmanship on site.

Key Requirements

  • Technical knowledge of residential buildings, including construction methods and standards.
  • Proven experience delivering affordable housing schemes for Housing Associations.
  • Good understanding of JCT Suite of contracts and/or Design & Build contracts.
  • Ability to diligently and accurately value works on site either on a stage or monthly payment basis and issue accurate Payment Notices/Certificates.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., MRICS or working towards) preferred.
