To provide excellent customer service by delivering/collecting products to all customers in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out daily checks to ensure that vehicles are clean, safe to drive and ensure records are maintained.
  • Being compliant with the traffic laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
  • Maintaining good health to be medically fit to drive; undertaking medicals when required and advising the company of any prescribed medication, that may impact the ability to do the job.
  • Reviewing orders scheduled for delivery, ensuring orders are complete and that the customer is satisfied.
  • Assisting and supervising the loading of goods to be delivered in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Operating equipment and machines whilst reducing the risk of vehicle overloading.
  • Using handheld devices correctly to evidence proof of delivery.
  • Assisting with the unloading of goods from vehicles on site.
  • Providing excellent customer service, providing prompt service and answering customer questions.
  • Undergoing training as and when required by the business.
  • Providing assistance to other part of the Group where required.
  • Complete any other reasonable duties as directed by the Manager.
  • Adhere to Group Policies and Procedures.
  • Adhere to the Group Health and Safety Policy.
  • Adheres to and delivers the Group Values in all aspects of the role.

Essentials Skills and Knowledge

  • Is aged at least 25 years to comply with HIAB and insurance requirements.
  • Holds a full clean driving license with Category C or willingness to undergo training to obtain it.
  • Works with a safety first approach at all times.
  • Maintains customer confidentiality at all times.
  • Understands and delivers excellent customer service practices.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and individually.
  • Works in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Organised with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Hiab trained or a willingness to undergo training to obtain the qualification.
  • Knowledge of Guernsey Roads.

General Information

Based in the main site of Norman Piette in Guernsey, the postholder requires an appropriate Right to Work document or equivalent.
