To provide excellent customer service by proactively seeking out customers in the Heavyside area, being helpful and courteous always, and ensuring that customer collections are actioned efficiently and promptly.

Assisting in all areas of function to ensure stock levels are maintained.

Key responsibilities

  • Working closely with other members of the team to achieve the daily tasks in an efficient way and maintain high standards of housekeeping in the trade counter area.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
  • Dealing with customer complaints and escalating to management when necessary.
  • Ensuring that all goods have been invoiced or paid for prior to delivery or collection, raising customer returns and credit notes when necessary.
  • Working with the Stock and Purchasing team to assist with stock taking, stock replenishment and stock queries.
  • Working with management and the Transport Team to ensure that orders are picked and palletised/packaged ready in time for scheduled deliveries.
  • Being familiar with the range of products across the site and referring customers to other members of staff for specialist attention when appropriate.
  • Remail commercially aware and complete product and job training.
  • Being security conscious regarding the company’s assets, reporting any suspicious behaviour/irregularities or breaches to management.
  • Maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail always.
  • Complete any other reasonable duties as directed by the Customer Service Manager to aid business/department success.
  • Adhere to Group Policies and Procedures.
  • Adhere to the Group Health and Safety Policy.
  • Adheres to and delivers the Group Values in all aspects of the role.

Essential skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent sales and customer service experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and individually.
  • Works in a professional manner.
  • Basic computer skills. Organised with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints and issues while maintaining a professional and calm demeanor.
