Purpose of the Role
Create bespoke, high-quality designs for a range of customers. To provide an excellent customer experience to those customers through guidance, advice and up to date product information. To meet and deliver customer expectations in a courteous, efficient and timely manner. Build and maintain profitable customer relationships, drive sales, and seek new business opportunities with new and existing customers, architects, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Following customer briefs, design and present high-quality bespoke kitchen, bathroom and bedroom designs.
- Researching and selecting materials and products relevant to customer budgets.
- Deliver excellent customer service levels at all times, in person (in store and in private residencies), over the phone and by email.
- Visit customersβ homes to discuss requirements, take measurements and advice on suitable design solutions.
- Interpreting and translating customer wishes into a CAD drawing with a supporting detailed quotation.
- Greet customers, be attentive to their questions and queries, recommend products, highlight offers and seek expert guidance if needed.
- Remaining up to date with the latest industry techniques and methods, researching required product information using available resources to advise, inform and guide the customer and colleagues.
- Where possible guide the customer to our associated products which may be relevant to the project.
- Meet customer expectations by achieving deadlines and ensuring the customer is consistently informed of all stages of the project.
- Working with the administration support and Goods In to ensure that orders required for delivery are picked and packaged in a timely manner.
- Following up on customer quotations, documents progress and gains and losses.
- Manage complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Escalate critical issues to management in a timely manner.
- Complete any other reasonable duties as directed by the Head of Operations/Lead Designer to aid business/department success.
- Assist the department with regular sequential stock counting.
- Adhere to Group Policies and Procedures.
- Adhere to the Group Health and Safety Policy.
- Adheres to and delivers the Group Values in all aspects of the role.
Essentials Skills and Knowledge
- Previous experience of kitchen/bathroom/bedroom designing using relevant software.
- Works in a professional and efficient manner.
- Organised with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience in sales, commercial awareness, and customer service.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and listening skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work well under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design software
General Information
Based in the main building of Norman Piette in Guernsey, this role will enable to the postholder to develop a wide range of skills and knowledge on the job and will be supported to progress within the Group if desired. The postholder requires an appropriate Population Management document or equivalent.
