Overview
We’re looking for a Maintenance Electrician to handle day‑to‑day electrical maintenance tasks in the field and workshop. This hands‑on role focuses on safe work practices, following procedures, and keeping systems running smoothly. Shift Pattern
Rotating 12‑hour shift schedule: 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts, 4 days off.
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety procedures, systems and policies, including the permit‑to‑work system and risk assessments.
- Carry out plant isolations and issue permits if authorized.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area after completing tasks.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance on equipment such as motors, transformers, switchgear, breakers and lighting.
- Conduct regular inspections, calibrations and data collection to detect equipment issues early.
- Support root‑cause analysis of plant issues and contribute to corrective actions.
- Use maintenance software to create work requests and update equipment history.
- Work closely with other departments to coordinate repairs and inspections.
- Ensure smooth shift handovers and complete shift reports.
- Participate in training to improve skills and carry out additional tasks as needed.
Requirements
- HND or equivalent education level.
- Time‑served Electrical Technician or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5‑6 years of demonstrable experience working in a manufacturing environment with heavy‑duty machinery.
- Electrical Regulation 17th Edition knowledge preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of general electrical maintenance activities (HV/LV, motor control circuits, automation, instrumentation).
- Basic safety requirements and safety procedures knowledge.
- Experience with maintenance methods, tools and systems.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and understand all electrical and process control drawings.
- A willingness to embrace change for continuous improvement.
