We are looking for a Plant Operator to join our production team in Glasgow. Your main responsibilities in this role will be to ensure delivery of product quality in a safe, timely and cost‑effective manner through effective execution of the company policies and procedures. The role covers operational activities, in‑process monitoring and housekeeping all areas of the site; from raw material intake through to product packaging plants, including the stock yard and packaging warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of in‑process monitoring and housekeeping all areas of the site; from raw material intake through to product packaging plants, including the stock yard and packaging warehouse.
  • Take ownership of final/repacked product sampling, re‑sampling, packaging, weight checks, labeling, storage and manage unused raw materials, dispose of waste at the end of the production run, and record stock information (packed and reprocessed).
  • Take ownership of the transportation of product between warehouses, waste to skips and checks on FLTs including fuel levels.
  • Take ownership of intake of raw materials and packaging materials.
  • Ensure all production equipment is operated according to OEM specifications and ensure the highest safety and quality standards are met at all times.
  • Take ownership of the execution of equipment set‑up by following procedures to prepare systems for operation.
  • Be responsible for ensuring safe working on site and that all agreed requirements of health, safety and environment are met.

Requirements

  • Able to work shifts in accordance with shift pattern
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of chemical operational experience is preferred
  • Forklift License
  • Production machinery, operational knowledge: ability to understand the mechanical and operational requirements for all NORIT production equipment
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Physical strength and stamina: to execute the operational requirements of the role
  • Communication skills and ability to work in the team, as well as good time management skills and flexibility
