As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out maintenance and repair tasks on a variety of mechanical equipment, ensuring all work is performed to a high standard.
- Performing routine inspections and identifying areas of potential concern to prevent equipment failures.
- Assisting in the assembly and installation of new equipment.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment specifications.
- Working collaboratively in a team environment to meet department goals and objectives.
- Following all company safety policies and procedures, including hazard identification and risk assessment.
Qualifications:
- HNC / HND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Completed recognized apprenticeship in mechanical craft engineering is a critical requirement, 4-5 years of experience post-apprenticeship.
- Proven experience as a maintenance fitter or technician in an industrial setting.
- Mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using a range of hand and power tools.
- Experience with hydraulic systems, welding and fabrication procedures.
- Experience with high-speed rotating equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance activities.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance strategies and systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Flexible and willingness to work on-call or out of hours when necessary.
- Current rota includes working one weekend out of five.
