Key Responsibilities: Draft and negotiate contracts with business partners, suppliers and customers. Manage a suite of standard contract templates to support project development covering land rights, capital equipment supply and warranty, EPC management and construction. Stay abreast of regulatory developments and changes in relevant laws impacting the power and renewables sector. Assist in monitoring, developing and maintaining compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations and industry standards in each jurisdiction of the company operates within. Become an expert resource for the group on complex regulation in the electricity sector. Provide general and commercial legal support to businesses in the Group, including advice on tender proposals, contract drafting, review and negotiation, deal with ad-hoc legal issues, and support the Group's M&A strategy. Collaborate with the management team providing legal services that are fit for future growth of the business with particular emphasis on commercial law, contract drafting/negotiation, and contract management. Oversee legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations. Collaborate with external counsel as necessary and manage external legal spend effectively. Identify commercial risks, collaborating with relevant stakeholders across the business to develop and deliver risk mitigation solutions. Requirements: Strong grounding in law, a qualified lawyer with a commercially focused approach, and industrial or energy-related legal practice experience. Proficiency in contract drafting, negotiation, including leading negotiations on complex commercial agreements, and project-related documents. Minimum 5 years expertise in legal document preparation, such as drafting, reviewing, and maintaining contracts, corporate documents, and regulatory filings. Ability to identify, assess, and manage legal Issues across commercial, regulatory, and corporate matters in the energy or infrastructure sectors. Experienced at providing clear, pragmatic legal advice to senior leadership and cross-functional teams, supporting decision-making and risk management. Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to simplify complex legal concepts. Experience in UK energy markets, infrastructure projects, or regulated industries is highly beneficial. High level of professional ethics, sound judgment, and commitment to continuous learning and development.
