Automation Engineer – Impact – Slough, UK

We are seeking an Automation Engineer to set up, operate, and program robotic peening machines, ensuring quality production and continuous improvement.

Travel to Metelen (Germany) and Charleville (France) will be required.

Professional Experience & Background

• Technical knowledge
• Experience working in a production environment
• Knowledge of production procedures

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate robotic peening machines following established procedures and guidelines.
• Program and develop components on the robot machines as needed.
• Adjust machine settings to meet specifications and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Manage the production schedule of the robotic cell.
• Interpret job cards, techniques, and diagrams to select, position, and peen products according to specifications.
• Follow and promote safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
• Operate and monitor multiple pieces of equipment to ensure quality and minimize unplanned stops.
• Communicate effectively with team members and support teams to maintain high-quality production with minimal waste.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards.
• Supervise the operation of robotic cells.
• Perform offline programming using ABB Robotics.
• Develop new parts on the robot machines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during production.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve robotic processes.
• Train and mentor junior staff on robotic systems.
