It assists and advises all NBIM business areas on their legal and tax requirements in respect of NBIM’s organisation and the investment portfolio, both listed and unlisted. About The Position NBIM is seeking a transaction lawyer to join the Unlisted Investments legal team in NBIM Legal & Tax. The team has five lawyers from different jurisdictions spread between London, Oslo, and New York, and plays a key role in ensuring NBIM successfully navigates the legal landscape relevant to direct real assets investments in Europe, North America, and Japan. The position involves supporting investments in renewable energy infrastructure and real estate. The role will be based in London, reporting to Albert Fiddan Nilsen, Head of Unlisted Investments, Legal & Tax. Travel to the Paris office, and potentially to New York or Oslo, will be required depending on business needs. Duties And Responsibilities Provide transaction support to the investment teams, mainly regarding real estate in France, Germany, and the UK, and support other areas such as US real estate and renewable energy infrastructure. Advise on investment structures, acquisition agreements, joint venture agreements, shareholder agreements, leases, operation and management agreements, mergers, government approvals, and regulatory issues. Manage relationships with external lawyers, financial, and technical advisors, including procurement and oversight. Contribute to internal memoranda, policies, guidelines, and procedures relevant to renewable energy and real estate investments. Provide legal advice on existing investments, company law, and intra-group questions. Support audit processes and legal questions related to mandates and explore new markets. Qualifications What You Need A law degree from a European or US university with a good academic record. Minimum 10 years’ experience as an international real estate transaction lawyer, with extensive experience in direct investments. Knowledge of renewable energy infrastructure investments is a plus. Proficiency in English; French language skills are highly advantageous; German skills are beneficial. Interest in AI and new technologies is a plus.
