nplaw is an award-winning public sector shared legal service hosted by Norfolk County Council, with a wealth of experience gained through many years of advising clients in local government, the public sector, charities and schools. The team provides a wide range of legal services, delivered by specialist lawyers who understand the local government context and priorities. An experienced lawyer is sought to join the Dispute Resolution section of nplaw’s Dispute Resolution & Governance Team. The role is to provide advice and representation to local authorities in all areas of enforcement and regulatory law.
Responsibilities- Provide clear and comprehensive professional legal advice to all clients, negotiate with other professionals and provide representation in the lower courts and at regulatory committees.
- Advise on all aspects of enforcement and regulatory law, deal with pre-litigation and litigation processes, and instruct counsel and experts when necessary.
- Manage a portfolio of varied matters, covering enforcement areas such as fly-tipping through to complex health and safety matters, and regulatory matters involving taxis and premises licences.
- Be part of an experienced team with the opportunity to develop a specialist area of focus, and have line management responsibility to support and guide colleagues in developing their skills.
We are open to full-time, part-time and flexible working candidates, with nplaw operating in a hybrid manner and offering flexitime. You must be a qualified solicitor, barrister or FCILEX (with litigation and advocacy rights) and have at least 3 years Post-Qualification Experience.
