We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and hard-working individual to join the Business Support function as a Project Delivery assistant within the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk (OPCCN) for a temporary 24-month contract. Applications are invited for the above post in the Performance and Scrutiny Directorate based at the OPCCN located in Wymondham and working in a hybrid workplace. This is a great career opportunity to join a busy and professional office working within local government as part of a Local Policing Body.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will work closely with their Business Support colleagues and be responsible for leading on all administrative tasks relating to the delivery of projects identified within the Police and Crime Plan. They will manage the preparation of project update reports for relevant scrutiny and oversight committees and liaise with external bodies as appropriate working closely with Senior Management Team, the Police and Crime Commissioner and project leads.
Qualifications
- Recognised vocational or professional qualification or experience in working in project based environment.
- Focused, tenacious, resilient and ability to manage a diverse and fast paced portfolio of project work.
- A proven ability to analyse and present complex and sensitive information verbally and in writing.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to successfully work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at a senior level.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive and willing to learn new skills.
- Project management skills.
- Knowledge of the role of the PCC and the work of the OPCC.
- Good understanding of supporting senior leadership teams and the required service goals and priorities.
- Excellent ICT skills with advanced skills of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and Microsoft 365 including Microsoft Teams.
Hours and contract
Hours of work are 37 hours per week Monday to Friday. This post is offered on a temporary basis on a 24-month fixed contract, subject to vetting and successful completion of a six-month probation period.
Working arrangements
We work a mixture of at home and in the office based on our Modern Workplace Policy. The post holder will need to be able to operate in an environment that requires political awareness and the ability to process information of a sensitive and confidential nature.
