Children with disabilities are at the heart of our practice at Norfolk County Council. We provide holistic care for children and young people aged 5–17, supporting their development and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Supporting and providing meaningful day-to-day activities for the young people.
- Developing personal and practical skills to enhance young people’s independence.
- Reporting and recording key aspects of care and developing professional skills.
- Managing complex behaviours that can be challenging.
- Working in collaboration and also directly with families and other professionals to ensure best outcomes for children and young people.
- Holding or being willing to work towards the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care (paid for).

Eligibility and Requirements
- Ideally you have a background in residential care or experience working with children.
- You must have good levels of literacy and numeracy.
- While the post is predominantly night, flexibility for day or night shifts and occasional on‑call training is required.
- You should be reliable, have strong personal and communication skills, and maintain high professional standards, with a commitment to making a difference in young people’s lives.
- Only skilled worker sponsorships are available. Salary threshold is £33,400 per year.
