TITAN (Travel Independence Training Across Norfolk) supports young people with SEND and adults at risk to develop the skills they need to travel safely and independently. By building lifelong travel confidence, the service opens up access to education, employment and social opportunities, while supporting Norfolk County Council’s wider commitment to inclusion, independence and positive outcomes for SEND learners.
This role plays a key part in shaping how TITAN works with schools and families across Norfolk. You will act as the lead liaison for the primary programme, Let’s Go!, and the secondary programme, Ready to Go!, working closely with education settings to embed a culture of early travel independence and support schools to identify pupils who may benefit from targeted travel training. Early and effective family engagement is central to the role and you will work directly with families and carers to ensure they receive the right information at the right time.
You will represent TITAN at county-wide SEND events and transition activities, promoting the benefits of travel independence and strengthening partnerships across Children’s Services, including SEND, Transport, Road Safety and Education teams. As a creative and enthusiastic professional, you will be responsible for the development of engaging and accessible resources for schools, pupils and families. You will design and deliver materials that support learning and engagement, using a range of digital tools and working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high-quality outputs.
This is a varied, people-focused role, requiring excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be confident working independently and as part of a wider team, with experience of working with young people and families, particularly those with SEND, and have a strong commitment to inclusive intervention. This role involves regular travel across Norfolk to schools, meetings and events. Although the role will take place during core hours, occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support engagement and promotional activity.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary
- Generous holiday entitlement
- Health and Wellbeing services including fast-track physiotherapy and a free counselling service
- Flexible working opportunities including flexi-time, part time, remote and hybrid working – dependant on your job role and business need.

- Relocation expenses (where applicable)
- An advance of your expenses if you travel for work
- Local Government Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution, life assurance, death in service payments and dependants’ pensions.
- Tax efficient ways of getting extra pension and new bikes
- Access to our tax efficient car lease scheme for greener travel enabling you to lease a brand new, ultra-low emission vehicle (subject to eligibility)
- A payment if you refer someone you know to a hard to fill job
Norfolk County Council is committed to supporting its workforce and offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements, high quality IT equipment and a collaborative working environment.
