Overview
Part of Norfolk County Council, the Client Hardship Service provides financial hardship support for people across the county. This is a great opportunity to be part of a team that works with vulnerable people and has a positive impact on our communities. We provide money management, holistic support and reused household items for people to become financially independent. The role involves speaking with people on the phone and occasional visits at their home address (applicant is required to have a full driving license). You will collate information and process requests to the Client Hardship Service. We work to timelines and deadlines, so we are looking for people who thrive under pressure, can assess information from multiple sources, provide information and guidance, offer ongoing referrals to both support and grant providers, make decisions and are motivated to make a difference.
Responsibilities
- Speak with clients on the phone and make occasional home visits as required (driving license required).
- Collate information and process requests to the Client Hardship Service.
- Assess information from multiple sources and provide information and guidance on holistic support, money management, debt support, and related services.
- Provide ongoing referrals to support and grant providers.
- Make decisions and manage workload to meet timelines and deadlines.
- Support vulnerable people and work within multi-agency contexts.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience of multi-agency working with knowledge of money management, debt support, and providing information and guidance on holistic support, grant organisations and/or working with vulnerable people would be highly beneficial.
- Solid communication and administration skills, confidence in dealing with members of the public, and strong computer skills.
