Responsibilities
- Provide overnight supervision, care and support for children and young people with disabilities
- Create a safe, stable, nurturing environment where children feel secure and valued
- Assist with personal care tasks and, where required, medication administration and moving and handling
- Monitor wellbeing at night and respond to health, emotional or behavioural needs
- Maintain accurate records, reports and incident logs
- Contribute to care plans and risk assessments to meet individual needs
- Build positive relationships with children, families and professionals
- Act as a positive role model, promoting independence and life skills
- Key requirements
- Experience working with children, young people or individuals with additional needs
- Understanding safeguarding and child-centered approach
- Excellent communication, listening and observational skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good literacy, digital and record-keeping skills; experience with Microsoft Office and business systems
