The role is full‑time (37 hours per week) covering Kings Lynn & West Norfolk. It involves telephone and occasional face‑to‑face contact with families and focuses on prevention, early help, safeguarding and support for children, young people and families up to 25 with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support families and partner organisations to navigate pathways to early help and support through the Family Hub network.
- Work directly with the public and partner organisations, assessing verbal, written and face‑to‑face support requests to determine the most appropriate response.
- Gather information with internal and external colleagues to provide high‑quality outcome‑focused support, advice and guidance to partners, children, young people and their families.
- Liaise with internal and external partners to support families in identifying their own natural network of support, promoting the use of an Early Help Assessment and Plan (EHAP) to coordinate support and reduce the need for professional involvement where possible.
- Ensure children and young people are adequately protected in line with the Local Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP), departmental policy, procedures and relevant legislation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Good knowledge of issues impacting families and pathways of early help support.
- Experience of capturing conversations and sharing information, advice and guidance to meet a family’s needs.
- Confidence using IT packages such as Teams, SharePoint and caseload management systems.
