We are seeking an experienced Business Support Assistant to provide effective financial and administrative support across the Eastern Area Museum sites in Norfolk, part of Norfolk Museums Service, by maintaining an efficient income reconciliation process, completing varied administration tasks and facilitation of the bookings for group visits and commercial hires.
You will be part of the administrative team working with the Operations Manager and wider site teams for the three Museums in Great Yarmouth - Time and Tide, Elizabethan House and the Tolhouse Gaol as well as Cromer Museum in the eastern region. These are award winning local museums with important collections of art, social history, photography, archaeology and natural history.
As our Business Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide administrative and financial support to the Eastern Area Museum site teams, facilitating office operations and dealing with incoming and outgoing enquiries.
- Manage petty cash transactions, reconcile income and complete banking procedures in accordance with NCC regulations for all Eastern Area sites.
- Monitor and maintain accurate financial and visitor recording systems at Eastern Area museums, highlighting any anomalies and providing accurate reports on a regular basis.
- Be the main point of contact and manage all aspects of non-educational group bookings and commercial venue hires for the Eastern Area Sites liaising with colleagues from all departments to deliver the service required.
- Be an active member of the operational team, providing customer service and buildings management support to the Visitor Services Duty Manager and the wider Visitor Services Team as required.
- Support the Area and Duty Managers in their roles managing the buildings, assisting with contractor management and facilitating the maintenance and testing of building systems.

- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent knowledge of IT systems, specifically Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Teams and SharePoint.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload.
- An eye for detail and the ability to quality check documents to ensure accuracy.
- Experience of working in a finance environment.
- Numerate, able to handle cash securely, understand financial reports, monitor and record income/expenditure.
- An awareness of Health and Safety at work and able to liaise with contractors.
